IV Therapy for Immune Support

You have a trip on the calendar, a stretch of long workdays ahead, or a house full of people who are already sniffling. You want to give your body every reasonable advantage before you feel run down. A vitamin drip is one of the ways some clients choose to support their immune function.

Registered Nurses only, since 2016. Overseen by a board-certified anesthesiologist medical director.

Immune support is not a single event, it is the ongoing work your body does to recognize and respond to pathogens. When you are traveling, sleeping less than usual, eating on the go, or spending time in crowded indoor spaces, the raw materials your immune cells rely on can run low faster than your diet can replace them. IV therapy does not prevent or cure illness, and it is not a substitute for vaccines, rest, hand washing, or a visit to your doctor when you actually feel sick.

What a well built immune support drip can do is deliver hydration and key vitamins and minerals directly into your bloodstream, bypassing the variable absorption of the gut. That means the nutrients your immune cells use to function are made available quickly and at concentrations oral supplements often cannot reach. For many clients, that is the point of booking before a flight, a busy week, or the return to school.

What Actually Affects Your Immune Function?

Immune performance is the product of many small inputs. When several drift in the wrong direction at once, you notice it.

Micronutrient Availability

Immune cells are metabolically demanding.

Vitamin C supports the function of neutrophils and lymphocytes, zinc is a cofactor for hundreds of enzymes involved in cell signaling, and B vitamins are needed to build new cells at speed. When intake is low or demand is high, the cells still function, but with less reserve.

Hydration Status

Mucous membranes in your nose, throat and airways are your first physical barrier against inhaled pathogens.

When you are dehydrated, that mucous layer thins and becomes less effective at trapping and clearing particles. Dry cabin air, hot Arizona days and heavy caffeine intake all pull water out faster than most people replace it.

Sleep Debt and Cortisol

Short or fragmented sleep raises cortisol and lowers the production of certain cytokines that coordinate the immune response.

A run of five hour nights during a work sprint measurably changes how your body responds to a new virus, which is why illness so often lands the weekend after a hard week.

Oxidative Stress

Every immune response produces reactive oxygen species.

Glutathione, the body's master antioxidant, neutralizes them. Alcohol, poor sleep, air travel and intense exercise all deplete glutathione, which is why some clients ask for it as an add on before or after a demanding stretch.

Exposure Load

Crowded planes, classrooms, offices and events increase the number of pathogens you encounter.

No drip changes exposure. What you can influence is whether your body has the hydration and micronutrients on hand to mount its normal response.

When People Book Immune Support

There is not one symptom picture here. Clients typically reach out when they feel the early edges of being run down, or when they know a stretch of high demand is coming.

  • Feeling generally run down
  • About to board a long flight
  • Kids brought something home from school
  • Coworkers or roommates are sick
  • Back to back travel weeks
  • Long hours and short sleep
  • Recovering from a hard training block
  • Heading into a big event or conference
  • Back-to-school season
  • Dry Arizona winter air

When to seek emergency care: high fever, difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, stiff neck, or symptoms that are rapidly worsening. These require immediate medical attention, not IV therapy.

How IV Therapy Helps

IV therapy supports immune function by delivering fluids and targeted nutrients directly into the bloodstream, so absorption is not limited by the gut.

IV Fluids

IV Fluids

Rapid rehydration that restores plasma volume and helps keep the mucous membranes of your airways working as a barrier.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C

The Immunity Booster includes 4,000mg of Vitamin C, a dose intended to saturate blood levels well beyond what an oral supplement can reach.

Zinc

Zinc

A key cofactor for immune cell signaling and enzyme function, added in doses appropriate for IV delivery.

B Complex Vitamins

B Complex Vitamins

Support the rapid cell turnover that immune responses require, along with steady energy metabolism.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12

Involved in the formation of red and white blood cells and often included when clients also feel fatigued.

Glutathione

Glutathione

The body's master antioxidant, added to help neutralize the oxidative stress that comes with travel, poor sleep and demanding weeks.

Nausea Support

Nausea Support

Available as an add on if you are already feeling off and want the drip to sit comfortably.

Immune Support Options Compared

Most people try a few of these first. Here is what each one actually does, and where it falls short.

OptionHydrationHigh-dose vitamin CZinc, B vitamins and glutathioneSkips the gut
Oral Vitamin C Tablets
Why

Useful as a daily baseline, but oral absorption of vitamin C is capped. Once you exceed roughly a gram or two at a time, most of the excess is not absorbed, so reaching high blood levels through pills alone is difficult.

–Capped–✕
Zinc Lozenges
Why

There is reasonable evidence lozenges may shorten the duration of a cold if started early. They do not deliver hydration, and higher doses can cause nausea and a metallic taste.

✕–Zinc only–
Electrolyte Powders
Why

Good for hydration when you actually drink enough of them. They do not provide meaningful vitamin C, zinc, B vitamins or glutathione, and absorption is still dependent on a functioning gut.

If you drink enough✕✕✕
Elderberry and Herbal Blends
Why

Popular and generally well tolerated. Evidence is mixed, doses vary widely between brands, and none of them address hydration or replace the specific micronutrients immune cells rely on.

Before a big trip

One to two days before a long flight or international trip.

Before a demanding stretch

At the start of a demanding work stretch or exam period.

Back-to-school season

During back-to-school season when household exposure is up.

After travel or short sleep

Why Arizona's Climate Matters for Immune Support

Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Glendale, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Peoria, Ahwatukee and Avondale share a dry desert climate. Even in cooler months, ambient humidity is low, which pulls water out of skin and mucous membranes faster than most people notice. Thin, dry airway mucous is less effective at trapping inhaled particles, so hydration is a real part of any immune conversation here.

The Valley is also a travel hub. Sky Harbor sends people onto long flights where cabin humidity often sits in the single digits, and brings visitors in from every winter cold and flu region in the country. Back to back travel weeks stack dehydration, sleep debt and higher exposure on top of one another.

Back-to-school season, holiday travel and large indoor events all cluster people together at the same time of year, and that is when we see the most requests for immune support drips.

Because we are mobile, you can be at home, at a hotel or at the office when your treatment starts, without adding a drive or a waiting room to an already full week.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast does an immune support IV work?

The hydration piece is felt quickly, often before the bag is finished. Vitamin and mineral effects are more gradual, since your body uses those nutrients over the following hours and days. Immune support is best thought of as giving your body raw materials, not as an instant shield.

How long does the treatment last?

Your nurse stays with you for the full session and removes the line when the bag is complete.

Can I get IV therapy if I am already feeling nauseous or run down?

Yes. The IV bypasses your stomach entirely, which is one reason clients who cannot keep fluids down often prefer it. Nausea support is available as an add on if you would like it included.

Is it safe?

IV Revival uses experienced Registered Nurses only, working under protocols developed and overseen by our board-certified anesthesiologist medical director. Your nurse reviews your history, explains each ingredient and monitors you throughout the treatment. As with any medical service, we screen for conditions that would make IV therapy inappropriate.

Do you accept insurance?

Immune support IV therapy is considered elective wellness care and is not typically billable to insurance. Pricing is transparent and listed alongside each treatment.

Is IV therapy right for me, and when should I see a doctor instead?

IV therapy is a supportive service, not a treatment for infection or illness. It does not prevent, diagnose or cure any disease, and it is not a substitute for vaccines, rest, hand washing or care from your primary physician when you are actually sick. If you have a fever, difficulty breathing, chest pain, confusion, a stiff neck or symptoms that are rapidly worsening, please seek emergency medical care rather than booking a drip. Every IV Revival treatment is placed by an experienced Registered Nurse under protocols developed and overseen by our board-certified anesthesiologist medical director, Dr. Drew Davenport. Your nurse will review your history and current symptoms before starting, and will stop the treatment if anything about your response gives them pause. If you are sick, injured or concerned about a new symptom, see your physician or an urgent care provider first. IV therapy is a wellness service, not emergency care. Before any treatment begins, your Registered Nurse reviews your history, current medications and reason for booking, and confirms the plan is appropriate for you that day. All protocols are developed and overseen by Dr. Drew Davenport, a board-certified anesthesiologist with two decades of experience. Treatments are mixed in front of you from company-supplied stock, so you can see exactly what is going into your bag and confirm any add ons.
